The Aeron Chair

Nowaadays, the Herman Miller Aeron Chair is one of the top rated chairs at technology companies ond offices everywhere. It offers users exceptionally high levels of comfort, and provides support in an ergonomically balanced manner.

This chair was designed by Don Chadwick and Bill Stumpf. These two designers, who previously collaborated to design the 'Equa' chair, understand that the human body was not designed to remain seated and static for extended periods of time. In this day and age, however, many jobs and workplaces require us to sit at our desks for extended periods of time, in positions not natural to us.

The Aeron Chair was designed to minimize the unnatural strain and stress that extended sitting places on the human body.

The Aeron chair was designed with four end goals in mind:

  • Ergonomics: The Aeron chair was designed to work to better the health and wellness of the occupant. It was made to reduce the stress and strain of unnatural sitting
  • Function: The Aeron chair was created to support the occupant, and allow him to sit in whatever position best suits his work.
  • Anthropometrics: The Aeron chair should not be formed to be comfortable and efficient for very few people, but rather for a large amount of people. The Aeron chair was created to comfortably fit every person who wished to sit in it.
  • Environment: The Aeron chair should be created out of natural substances, in an environmentally manner. It was intended to be broken down easily during dissembly, and recyclable, for easy disposal.
